As we all know and have anticipated, spring break is right around the corner! I thought I would share with everyone my spring break finds. 70's Chic

This season one of the biggest trends on the runways is 70's inspired looks. Off the shoulder peasant tops, wide leg jeans, bohemian dresses and boho jewelry. I personally love looks from this time period, but with a more modern twist. While a lot of the looks are worn together, for example a peasant top with wide leg jeans and a boho bracelet…I like the look a little more subtle. What I mean by subtle is using one or two 70's pieces and wearing it with something more modern. For example, wearing a peasant top paired with cut off shorts and adding a big cuff bracelet; or wearing wide leg jeans with a fitted top, dainty jewelry, big sunglasses and wedges. Below I have posted a few of these looks! Have a great week!

Key Fashion Items...

Key pieces are those items that are very versatile, making them able to wear with many different options. I decided to put together a list of what I think are ten classic, key pieces to have in your wardrobe for this upcoming season and more to come.

1) A dark, classic pair of jeans- Jeans can transition easily from fall and winter to spring and summer.
2) A colorful skirt- I’ve been seeing a lot of pleated skirts lately, but choose a style that best fits you. Tuck a plain white shirt into it and add your choice of shoes.
3) A black blazer- You’d be surprised at what all you can wear a blazer with. Jeans, skirts, pants and even some shorts! Although, my favorite is a blazer worn over a dress. You most likely won’t be wearing a blazer in the summer (depending on where you live), but it’s great for chilly nights in the spring.
4) A cardigan- A good cardigan always comes in handy, regardless of where you’re going. It’s an easy piece to throw over anything and can be worn throughout the year. While a bold color is fun, white, gray or black is more versatile.
5) A Chunky necklace- Having one or two statement necklaces is good thing. When you’re wearing a casual outfit and feel that it needs something, throw one on to make the outfit complete. Also, try a fun color like turquoise or coral.
6) A casual dress- Find a dress with a fun print. Something that you can dress up or down so it can be easily transformed from day to night.
7) A white button up shirt- A white shirt is a classic piece. It looks great tucked into pencil skirts for a more sophisticated look. For a more casual look, tuck it into a pair of dark jeans, throw a cardigan over it and add a belt.
8) A silk top- A silk top is great to have for a night out. Wear it with jeans and hills. And if you need to, you can always wear a cardigan or blazer over it and it will look just as good!
9) A pair of nude shoes- They look good with absolutely anything. Not to mention they are big color choice this season!
10) A pretty scarf- A scarf is something great to have because it’s something you can put on with whatever you are wearing for a more relaxed and comfortable look.

These are all classic pieces that never really go out of style. If you invest well, they are pieces that you can wear for many years to come. Happy shopping!

What is Hollie's Fashion Finds?

Hello everyone and welcome to my fashion blog! Fashion is something that has always been a hobby of mine and I find it inspiring. Finding a cute top, just the right jeans, or the perfect shoes gives me a sense of excitement and gratification. A lot of you probably get this feeling too. Throughout the semester I am going to give you an insight to upcoming trends, fashion finds and how to piece together the perfect ensemble. If you have any questions, requests or inputs please feel free to blog away!

I just looked through the February issue of J. Crew’s catalog and their inspiration is classic Hollywood. I saw a lot of rolled up pants, cardigans, oxford shoes and vintage inspired sunglasses. One particular item that caught my attention is the Minnie Pant in black twill as pictured below. They can be worn with just about anything and can be transformed from day to night. For a day look, they could be paired with a tunic, flats and a long necklace. For night they could be worn with a cute silk top, a blazer and pumps or wedges. The possibilities are endless! Another great thing about these pants is they come in many different fabrics including stretch twill and stretch wool retailing from $79.50-$98. They can be found at J. Crew stores or on J. Crew’s website which I have posted a direct link for below. Thanks for checking out my blog, and have a great week!
